National automotive aftermarket retailer.
Challenge
Many of the tires and services are especially appropriate for snow, rain, and heat & humidity. Few customers plan ahead, but can be motivated by an approaching weather event. We needed to deploy emails triggered by a 7-10 day weather forecast in each local area.
Solution
Our team of programmers and developers wrote a custom program to automatically monitor weather.com forecasts in each selected market. Right before a weather event occurred, emails were deployed referencing the forecasted weather event. The email also featured special offers on tires and service related to snow, rain or hot/humid temperatures at their nearby store.
Results
Email campaigns have consistently delivered profitable returns, but in-store sales improved by 4X when broadcast prior to a weather event.
